Nikon 1 J6 Announcement Scheduled for February 2017

The rumor mill is claiming that the Nikon 1 J6 announcement is scheduled to take place at the CP+ 2017 show in February.

Nikon is preparing to replace the 1 J5 mirrorless camera with a new model. It is expected to follow up the previous camera. Even the specs of the upcoming MILC is unknown at the moment we expect minor changes.

Nikon 1 J5 will be replaced by the Nikon 1 J6 soon, a new camera with improved 4K video recording support and SnapBridge technology. (more…)

First Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR lens reviews and hands-on videos now available online with first look and impressions.

The bright prime optic utilizes an internal focusing stepping motor AF system which can lock on in as little as 0.05 seconds for fast, accurate focusing. Especially when paired with the phase detection AF systems of the X-Pro2 and X-T2 this lens is a beast.

Sony A9 full-frame E-mount camera coming in early 2017

Sony A9 full-frame E-mount camera is rumored to be announced in early 2017 instead of late 2016 due the sensor production shortage.

The rumor mill is once again in talks of a camera called Sony Alpha A9. The next generation high-end model will be placed above the A7-series.

The sensor will be brand new but it’s not clear what will be the megapixel count. As you might guess it will be in high-resolution and rich in features. (more…)


Comparison of Sony A6500 vs Fujifilm X-Pro2 Cameras

Mirrorless industry is growing day by day. At this point we wanted to make a quick comparison of the Sony A6500 vs Fujifilm X-Pro2 cameras with APS-c sized image sensors.

Sony Alpha A6500 has become the company’s flagship APS-C mirrorless camera with in-body 5-axis image stabilization technology and touchscreen. The MILC uses a copper-wired 24MP sensor with 425 on-sensor PDAF points. Fuji X-Pro2 also features a 24MP image sensor.

Tamron 60mm f/2.8 Macro VC Lens Patent

The new patent from Tamron filed in Japan. The application describes the Tamron 60mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens designed for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras.

We can see that this macro optic also comes with built-in Vibration Compensation technology. This means that users will benefit from camera shakes.

On the other hand this is good news for the current Sony A7-series E-mount camera users. As Tamron produce such good lenses with an affordable price. (more…)


Early Sony A7SIII specs leaked on the web

First Sony A7SIII specs has been leaked on the web. Sony A7SIII camera is on the horizon and said to be in development.

Sony is allegedly working on a new MILC with full-frame image sensor. The Sony A7SIII specs list is expected to include a new 15.4 MP BSI-CMOS Sensor found with LSI.

If true the low-light king will meet the same chip that is found on the new Alpha a6500 camera. The front-end LSI chip gives the camera faster internal processing. This also improves the high ISO performance for both stills and videos and buffer in continuous shooting mode. (more…)


Fujifilm releases firmware updates for X-Pro2, X-Pro1 and several lenses

Fujifilm has released a new firmware update for its flagship X-Pro2 mirrorless camera.

Firmware update version 2.0 for the X-Pro2 adds the autofocus algorithm to be in-line with the weather-sealed X-T2 model. The new autofocus algorithm comes to the X-Pro2.

The only exception is the AF-C Custom Settings functions. The number of focus point will be increased from 77 to 91 points and from 273 to 325 points  to improve framing.

Fujifilm also announced a little firmware update version 3.70 for the X-Pro1. Many Fujinon lenses got a firmware update too. It simply improves tracking function of parallax correction in the OVF. Details and download links can be found below. (more…)


New Tokina FiRIN lenses coming for Sony E mount cameras

New Tokina FiRIN lenses are on the horizon. Tokina FiRIN lens roadmap displayed at Photokina 2016 event.

The company is planning to launch three new FíRIN AF lenses for Sony E-mount full frame cameras.

The Firin 20mm F2 FE MF is the first in Tokina product line compact form-factor super wide ultra fast F2 aperture manual prime lens. The wide-angle prime is the first optic in their lineup for full-frame Sony E-mount system cameras. (more…)
