Panasonic G85 has been officially announced at the Photokina 2016 event as a followup to the G7 model. The compact MFT camera features an improved 5-Axis Dual Image Stabilisation and a splash/dust proof design.
The Lumix DMC-G85 from Panasonic is a versatile Micro Four Thirds camera with flexible photo capabilities, and UHD 4K video recording. The mirrorless camera uses a 16.0-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor and new Venus Engine. It has a sensitivity range from ISO 200-25600.
The Panasonic G85 will be available in the US for $899 body only and $999 with 12-60mm F3.5-5.6 Power O.I.S. kit lens.
Panasonic G85 announced with weather-sealing and updated IS
It is the successor to the current Panasonic G7. It has the same DSLR-style design with twin control dials and fully articulating touch display.
Panasonic G85 features a new 2.36M dot OLED electronic viewfinder, a longer eyepoint, 5-axis image stabilization and Dual I.S. 2, weather and dust-sealing, built-in Wi-Fi and utilizes Panasonic’s Depth from Defocus AF.
The camera also incorporates both a 2.36m-dot electronic viewfinder as well as a 3.0″ 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD. It has a free-angle design to better enable working from high and low angles. Built-in Wi-Fi is also integrated which facilitates wireless image transferring and remote camera control from linked smartphones or tablets.
