Fujifilm GFX 50S camera released with three G-mount medium-format lenses

Fujifilm officially announces the GFX 50S camera with three new G-mount medium-format lenses.

Fujifilm GFX 50S camera combines an extraordinary 51.4MP medium-format (43.8 x 32.9mm) sensor, processor and design. As part of the GFX system, Fujifilm is launching newly developed, ultra-high resolution FUJINON GF lenses. All FUJINON GF Lenses have been designed to support sensors of over 100MP.

The first three G-mount lenses are the GF 63mm F2.8 R WR, GF 32-64mm F4 R LM WR, and GF 120mm F4 R LM OIS WR Macro models. Three additional lenses will be released by the end of 2017, including a 23mm F4, 45mm F2.8 and 110mm F2.

The GFX 50S camera will start shipping in late February with a price of of $6499/£6199 .

Back at Photokina in September, Fujifilm has made the GFX 50S development announcemenet. After promising that we will receive more information in early 2017, the company released the product with all the details including price and shipping date.

The specs list of this medium format camera continues with a focus system containing 117 AF points. The focus area can be selected by touching the 3.2-inch tilting OLED screen, the NP-T125 lithium-ion battery is rated for 400 shots on a single charge.

Fujinon GF Lenses

The GF 63mm F2.8 R WR is equivalent to 50mm when mounted on the medium-format GFX 50S camera. The small and lightweight optic features nine rounded aperture blades. It will be available in February for $1499/£1399.

The GF 32-64mm F4 R LM WR is a standart zoom lens equivalent to 25-51mm. It has aspherical, ED and Super ED elements and a linear motor-powered internal AF system. The zoom costs $2299/£2199.

The GF 120mm F4 R LM OIS WR Macro is equivalent to 95mm and has 3 ED elements, a linear AF motor and a minimum focus distance of 45cm/18in. The telephoto macro lens price is  $2699/£2599.
