Sharp 8K Micro Four Thirds Camera Prototype Spotted At CES 2019

Kinotika has published a new video of a new Sharp 8K Micro Four Thirds Camera. According to the video a Micro Four Thirds prototype camera being shown at CES 2019.

It has a 5-inch vari-angle screen, and records 8K video at 30fps. In order to record 8K video, the sensor needs to have a resolution of at least 33mp (7680×4320).

The price is expected to be under $5,000 US. Full  specs and price information of this camera will be available in Q2 of 2019. Official announcement of the Sharp 8K Micro Four Thirds camera could happen at NAB 2019 event.

This is an exciting news because there is no M43 sensor on the market that’s capable of true 8k (7680×4320) resolution. The body on it looks a lot like the BMPCC4K, and even has similar ports on the left side of the camera.
