Sony A7 III and A7R III Firmware Update 2.0

Sony today released the new firmware update version 2.00 for Sony A7 III and Sony A7R III full frame mirrorless cameras.

This looks like a major upgrade as the firmware update for Sony A7 III and A7R III. Version 2.0 adds support for the 400mm f/2.8 GM and 24mm f/1.4 GM lenses, improves LA-EA3 mount adaptor support, and offers better reproduction of the gradation of RAW pictures.

Fujifilm GFX 100 to Feature 100MP, 4K video 30p, 10bit, 4:2:0 internally

The flagship GFX 100 medium format camera will feature a 100 megapixel sensor and IBIS. It will record 10 bit 4K up to 30p and the price of the new shooter will be around $10,000. Expect the availability and official announcement in the first quarter of 2019.

Cinema5D interviewed a Fujiflm manager about the Fujifilm GFX 100S concept. Fuji manager told the Cinema5D that the camera will record in 4K, 10bit, 4:2:0 internally with the ability to capture video in 4K, 10bit, 4:2:2 externally via HDMI. This will be the first time Fuji will introduce IBIS to their medium format cameras. … Continue reading

Fujifilm X-H2 to Feature 26MP Sensor with DCI 4K@60p

First rumors about the Fujifilm X-H2 camera are coming. The video-centric mirrorless to feature a 26MP X-Trans Sensor that will record DCI 4K videos at 60p.

Looks like the newly developed 26MP X-Trans 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 on Fuji X-T3 probably hit the X-H2 features. We know that the current X-H1 camera is limited to 8-bit 4:2:2 externally via HDMI. It comes with 5-axis IBIS but lacks DCI and 4K 60p recording.

Fujifilm X-T3 Sensor is Made by Sony

The Fujifilm X-T3 sensor is made by Sony not by Samsung. At Photokina 2018, in a recent interview with Managing Director of Fujifilm UK, the 26.1MP sensor inside the Fuji X-T3 is made by Sony and not by Samsung.

PGN interviewed Managing Director of Fujifilm UK – Theo Georgiades – about the Fujifilm GFX 50R and GFX 100S. And at the end of the interview, Theo Georgiades confirms that the 26MP sensor inside Fujifilm X-T3 is made by Sony, not by Samsung:
