New firmware updates for Fujifilm X70 and X-E2s mirrorless cameras now available for download.

Fuji has released firmware update version 1.01 for X-E2s camera to fix a phenomenon about the EVF issue which doesn’t work on rare occasions right after Power On. The version 1.10 update for X70 premium compact camera gets support for the WCL-X70 wide conversion lens.

Sony Released New Firmware Updates for A7RII and A7SII Mirrorless Cameras

Sony today released a new firmware update for its A7 series mirrorless cameras. Sony A7RII and A7SII are the two E-mount full-frame mirrorless models gets the update.

New firmware update version 3.20 for Sony A7RII and version 2.10 for Sony A7SII both adds function to record XAVCS format video with an SDHC card in addition to SDXC card to the cameras.

Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 Lens Rumored to be in Development

Fujifilm is rumored to be working on a XF 23mm f/2 wide-angle prime lens for its X-mount mirrorless cameras.

Trusted sources are reporting that the company has listened to its fans and that the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 lens is in the works. The wide-angle optic is said to become available this year at the Photokina 2016 event in September.

If it becomes a reality, then the lens will be compatible with all X-mount cameras, including the flagship X-Pro2 model. It will have a maximum aperture of f/2 and provide a full-frame focal length equivalent of 35mm.

Canon full frame mirrorless camera coming at Photokina 2016

A new high-end Canon full frame mirrorless camera is rumored to be in development and it will be able to record 4K videos.

The rumor mill is claiming that a Canon full frame mirrorless camera is in the works. It is expected to become official at Photokina 2016 event with two other EOS series mirrorless models.

Olympus Patent for 24mm f/1.4 Lens for Full Frame Mirrorless Cameras

Olympus has patented a new 24mm f/1.4 lens in Japan designed for full frame mirrorless cameras.

Actually the patent application consists of two Olympus lenses with 24mm and 50mm focal lengths and f/1.4 maximum aperture. The interesting part is that both lenses are developed for mirrorless cameras with full-frame image sensors.

Currently there are no rumors for a Oly full frame mirrorless camera model but this is the third patent filed in Japan. This could refer to a future product like an Olympus full-frame mirrorless camera but on the other hand we might not see these products in mass production.

Previously we have seen the 28mm f/2 and 35mm f/1.4 mirrorless lenses, this 24mm f/1.4 prime lens is also designed for full frame image sensored cameras. Sure all these prime lens patents might refer to a premium fixed lens full-frame compact camera like the Sony RX1R series. … Continue reading


Sony A6300 Mirrorless Camera Comes with 24MP Sensor and Incredible AF

The Sony A6300 mirrorless camera has been announced as a fast  that is specifically aimed at capturing fast objects.

The mid-range MILC comes with a 24-megapixel APS-c image sensor and incredible “4D” autofocus system with a whopping 425 phase-detection autofocus points.

The a6300’s 425-point hybrid AF system is capable of continuous shooting at up to 11fps and features ‘high-density’ tracking, which dynamically activated AF points around a subject and adjusts them depending on the motion of the subject itself.
