Rumor : Sony A7S III to Feature 36.4MP BSI Stacked Sensor

Sony A7S III full frame mirrorless camera is rumored to feature a 36.4 MP BSI Multi-aspect Stacked CMOS Sensor.

We already know that the A7S III camera could use the BSI Stacked sensor.  More recently, Sony’s 36 megapixel full-frame 8K sensor has been leaked. The new 36 MP full frame Sony 8K Sensor will be available under the code name IMX435AQJ.

Sony A7R IV / A7S III / A9 II to offer 8K Video with New Sensors

Sony has developed two new full frame sensors capable of 8K, which will soon be released in two Sony cameras.

The two sensors will reportedly be available for both Sony’s own cameras as well as third-party companies that use Sony’s sensors. This means that we might see the high-resolution 60MP sensor on the Sony A7R IV while the 8K 36MP sensor could be used on the upcoming A7S III and A9 II.

Rumored Olympus OM-D E-M1 X Specs: 20MP, 18fps, 7.5+ EV

First rumored Olympus E-M1X specs have been leaked. According to the specs list the high-end mirrorless camera will feature 20MP image sensor, 18fps continuous shooting speed with 7.5+ EV.

Previously several reports indicated that the size of E-M1X will be 144.37 x 146.765 x 75.345mm. Olympus E-M1X camera registered at FCC certification with the IM010 code name. This is probably the upcoming Olympus E-M1X high-end mirrorless camera.

According to the details, size of E-M1X is 144.37 x 146.765 x 75.345mm. The camera’s height is superior to its width and its larger than E-M1 Mark II (134.1 x 90.9 x 68.9 mm).

The upcoming Olympus OM-D E-M1X Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera is rumored to be announced in January 2019, probably at CES 2019, which will take place on January 8, 2019.

Sony A7S III to Have 4K 60p, 4:2:2 10-bit and Better Battery Life

In an recent interview at Dpreview with Sony Kenji Tanaka, VP and Senior General Manager of Sony’s Business Unit, several hints are coming that the upcoming Sony A7S III camera will have the 4K/60p, 4:2:2 10-bit and better battery life.

The company did not announce the long-waited A7S III full frame MILC or a new APS-C mirrorless camera before, during or after the Photokina 2018 event. Now it is almost confirmed that a new APS-C mirrorless camera will be announced at CP+ 2019 that will take place by the end of February. Fujifilm X-H2 to Feature 26MP Sensor with DCI 4K@60p

First rumors about the Fujifilm X-H2 camera are coming. The video-centric mirrorless to feature a 26MP X-Trans Sensor that will record DCI 4K videos at 60p.

Looks like the newly developed 26MP X-Trans 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 on Fuji X-T3 probably hit the X-H2 features. We know that the current X-H1 camera is limited to 8-bit 4:2:2 externally via HDMI. It comes with 5-axis IBIS but lacks DCI and 4K 60p recording.

Sony a7S III will Go Beyond Customers’ Expectations

At Photokina 2018 we didn’t see the Sony A7S III announcement. According to that Cinema5D interviewed with Sony Senior Manager Yutaka Iwatsuki about the release date of Sony A7S III and other future products.

Sony Manager said that the Sony a7S III is in development, but in order to go beyond customer’s expectations, they need a lot of work and time to achieve this. This mean’s the Sony A7S III announcement date may require longer than we probably imagine.

This also means that a possible Sony a7S III announcement will not happen at PhotoPlus EXPO 2018 in October. Maybe in early 2019 at the CES 2019 or CP+ 2019 events makes sense.
