Great News! The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens (Model A036) now available for pre-order. The first third-party that is created natively for the Sony full frame E-mount is priced for $799.

The new high-speed lens offers a minimum focus distance of 19cm/7.5in at wide-angle, will measure 11.7cm/4.6in long and weigh in at 19.4oz/1.2lb. Tamron claims the lens will offer excellent optical performance and high-quality bokeh. An ‘RXD’ stepping motor autofocus unit provides quiet operation for video applications, and the whole thing will be moisture-resistant.

Panasonic has announced the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f/2.8-4 ASPH Power OIS lens. This is the latest lens in its line of F2.8-4 zooms and the final,third model in the series. The other lenses in this range, are the Leica 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0, and the wide-angle Leica 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0.

The 100-400mm equivalent zoom designed in collaboration with Leica for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Panasonic’s Power O.I.S. stabilization is included and works with Dual I.S. on compatible Lumix cameras. The lens covers a variety of daily shooting situations, from wildlife to indoor sports, and even supports portrait shots, taking advantage of the f/2.8-4.0 high-speed performance.

Sony will allegedly announce a new E 16-55mm f/2.8 lens in 2018. It will be designed for company’s mirrorless cameras with APS-c sized image sensors.

The standard zoom lens will be made and designed by Sony. The sources are claiming that the optic will become official alongside the A6700 in the near future.

Canon 12-385mm f/1.8-4 lens patent for Micro Four Thirds

A new patent has been surfaced on the web from Canon. The application describes a Canon 12-385mm f/1.8-4 lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras.

This ofcourse doesn’t mean that Canon is joining to Micro 4/3rds community. When we look at the application it shows the 12-385mm F1.8-4.0 lens is for a camcorder. It would probably feature a Micro Four Thirds image sensor.
