New Sony full-frame E-Mount lenses rumored for 2017

Sony is rumored to be developing six new lenses for its full frame E-mount system cameras. The new Sony lenses to be announced in the next six months period, sources say.

The FE 16-35mm f2.8 GM will be the next model in the GM-series. As expected it will have premium price because of the GM lens special feaures.

According to recent gossips, new Sony full-frame E-Mount lenses will be released before the next a7-series camera announcement. This is also another hint of there will be a high-end MILC to be announced before mid-2017.

The Japan-based company will be on more focus on lenses in year 2017. A Japanese source who are very close to Sony retailers mentions that the company will develop more full frame E-mount lenses.

The list includes several models but the important one would be the 24mm wide-angle optic from Zeiss. See the whole list below.

  • Sony FE 16-35mm f2.8 GM
  • Sony STF GM Lens
  • Telephoto zoom lens (like 70-400mm f4-5.6 G)
  • Telephoto prime lens (like 300mm f2.8G)
  • FE wide-angle lens (like 24mm zeiss)
  • Full-frame E-mount standard zoom lens (like 24-105mm)
