A new Sigma FE lens and 50mm f/1.4 DC DN lens is rumored to be announced at CP+ 2018 show.
At the end of last year, Sigma released a new APS-C E-mount lens for Sony mirrorless cameras: Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN lens. They have also released a new lens roadmap for Sony E-mount cameras. According to the graph Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens will be the next lens in the DN-series lineup and to be announced in 2018.
Along with APS-C E-mount lens, Sigma is also rumored to unveil their first FE lens designed for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras. Both lenses will be announced around CP+ Show in Japan on March 1st. More details after the break!
Sigma FE Lens and 50mm f/1.4 DC DN Lens Coming at CP+ 2018
Sigma currently has five DN-series lenses for mirrorless cameras. They are Sigma 19mm f/2.8, 30mm f/2.8, 60mm f/2.8, 30mm F1.4 DC DN and the latest 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary model. These lenses from Sigma are designed to use on mirrorless cameras for Sony E-mount and Micro Four Thirds systems.
According to Sigma, a new mid-telephoto prime lens for Sony E-mount is in development. This lens will be Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary model.
It has been widely thought that _Sigma_ will be finally entering the Sony full-frame mirrorless system with native _lenses. _Even the focal length and aperture of the first Sigma FE lens is unknown at the moment. We expect it would be called the Sigma FE 35mm f/1.4 AF. The size of Sigma FE 35mm f/1.4 AF lens will be between Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 lens and Sony FE 35mm f/2.8 lens.
