Canon is working on a high resolution EOS R body. The camera may have 70 Megapixel FF DPAF sensor inside it with built-in Image stabilization system. This camera is said to have dual card slots and joystick.

This high-end Canon FF MILC will be an answer to the Sony A7R III, Nikon Z7, and Panasonic S1R. With this high-resolution of 70MP might also bring the DIGIC 9 image processor.

A new Canon EOS R body is rumored again with 70MP full frame image sensor and IBIS. Recent reports indicates that this high-end Canon EOS R Pro body to be announced in Q4 of 2019 or early 2020.

There have been some speculations that Canon will not be releasing next iterations for the EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R, and instead will move to the high-megapixel cameras to the EOS R line.

After the entry-level Canon EOS RP body ($1299 at B&HAdoramaAmazon), the company is already testing the second pro-grade Canon full frame mirrorless camera in the wild. The company is planning two announce one more full frame and two new APS-c sensor mirrorless cameras in 2019.
